Market Crash – Is It Really Because of Tariffs?
The NASDAQ, S&P, and global stock markets have plunged into panic.

So why did it crash this time? People and the news always look for a reason, a scapegoat. Then they sell. Almost like it makes them feel better.
According to countless headlines, the most obvious culprit seems to be "Trump’s trade war."

As a trader, I have three big questions:
- Really? Did Trump’s tariff policy actually cause the crash?
- Does it even matter why the market crashed?
- Then what exactly should a trader like me do now?
Question 1: Did Trump really cause the market crash?
Sure, Trump’s tariffs may have pulled the trigger, delivering the final blow to a market already at 1 HP. But before that, the market was like a balloon filled to the limit, ready to burst. If the market weren’t already wobbling, even Trump firing a shotgun might not have mattered — it could’ve been seen as good news.
Question 2: Does the reason matter?
Let me be direct. It doesn’t matter. The cause of the crash? Irrelevant.
People love finding rational-sounding explanations. But what good are they?
If knowing the cause could help us better react next time, sure. But that’s not how markets work. Next time it could be a major bank collapse, an assassination, a plane crash involving celebrities, a Fed chair’s comment, or a tweet by Elon Musk. Can you predict all that?
Question 3: What should a trader actually do?
If you’ve read a few of my blog posts, you probably already know the answer.
I do nothing. And here’s why — it’s not a bull market.
The market gave warning signs months ago. About a week back, I posted again: “Don’t buy anything. The market is bloated. HP is 1. Just wait.”
Wait until the bull market returns. Do nothing. Watch as other traders get wrecked in this bloody market, buying and selling like mad. And enjoy the stillness.
I’ll say it again: Until a bull market clearly returns, do absolutely nothing.
Check out the weekly “Market Direction” post. It will say either “Bullish,” “Neutral,” or “Bearish.” If you're using a breakout strategy like mine, only buy when it clearly says Bullish.
